Re: 37 D28 A Issues

when you are checking the neck angle ( and this is what they taught me at Martin and how they do it), it is done without a load. If you want to see how the top moves that is done with a load. Working...

Re: 37 D28 A Issues

Just for adding another bit of confusion, and because it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet: To my (limited) knowledge Martin is choosing from three different heights of bridges for the best...

Re: 37 D28 A Issues

Martin always used a few bridge sizes that is correct. At one time they had them as high as 7/16 . The neck set gauge has a tolerance , so as long as the go/no go gauge is inside that tolerance zone ,...

Re: 37 D28 A Issues

This is all great information and I'm admit that I spent nearly an hour at my workbench with my GE D-18, my OM28 and a 24" straight edge taking measurements and familiarizing myself with neck angles...

Re: 37 D28 A Issues

Necks unless they fail move very slowly. That is so true. I had a neck reset done back in 1995 on my '73 D-35 and that neck just hasn't moved! It's the same as it was right after Bruce Petros did the...

Re: 37 D28 A Issues

Re: 37 D28 A Issues

The 37 is sounding good again but the action seems a little high up the neck. From top of 12th to bottom of low E is 1/8. Not sure how that translates into 64ths?
